How it works

You run the business. We run the battery.

01. Charge when cheap, avoid the peak

The wholesale price of electricity fluctuates wildly. Your Cable battery charges when prices are cheap and discharges when they're expensive.

02. Keep it simple, leave the complexity to us

We're the energy experts so you don't have to be. Our intelligent platform takes care of the complexity and leaves you with a zero-risk solution.

03. Maximise your savings, minimise your footprint

Cable offers substantially lower costs for each kWh, plus a reduced carbon footprint compared to other energy providers.

Why SMEs choose Cable

The boring kind of energy contract, finally.

Most SMEs are quietly carrying risk that belongs on a utility's balance sheet, not a small business's. Cable takes it back.

20-40%

Lower bills, structurally.

Not a teaser rate. Not a dial-back. The savings come from us trading a battery on your behalf, and they hold for the full term.

$0

Upfront cost.

The battery, the install, the maintenance. Cable funds and owns all of it. You only pay for the kWh you actually use.

3yr

Guaranteed. No surprises.

One flat 24/7 rate, indexed only to inflation. No demand charges. The price you sign is the price you get.

0%

Of the risk is yours.

If the battery fails, that's our problem. Power keeps flowing from the grid, on the same flat price you signed up for.

Common questions

No surprises.
That's the whole pitch.

See all questions
Yes, it remains Cable's battery throughout. We ask for a small refundable deposit (about three months of electricity costs) which covers our installation and recovery costs only if you leave before the end of your three-year term. Stay to the end and the deposit comes back to you in full.
You're billed on what you consume, so if you use more energy then your total bill will increase to reflect that, but you'll remain on the same flat unit rate. There are no demand charges.
After signing up there's a 10 business day cooling-off period. Cancel for any reason, no fee. After that, the energy & battery plan runs three years; if you leave before then, your deposit covers our install and battery recovery costs. If you stay, the deposit is fully refundable.
The battery charges when wholesale grid power is cheap and discharges when it's expensive. Cable underwrites a price to you where our total margin is sustainable. Because our batteries are so clever, that price is cheaper than traditional retailers can offer sustainably.
That's our problem, not yours. Your power supply is uninterrupted. It just comes 100% from the grid while we fix or replace the unit. The price you pay does not change. All maintenance is at our cost. We'll get in touch with you to come over and fix up the battery ASAP.
Today: Sydney metro LGAs in the Ausgrid distribution network, for customers consuming 10-160 MWh/year with at least 12 months of smart-meter data.

Outside that? Join the waitlist anyway, we expand into the LGAs with the most demand first.
We are focused on SMB customers, and we know that one way to help your business thrive is by also helping your customers & team. So, we provide exclusive access to residential customers for those households with a valid referral code from a Cable SMB customer. You can buy a lot of coffees with an extra $1k off your power bill!
Self-consumption keeps working as normal. Any excess flows into the Cable battery first, then to the grid; with feed-in-tariffs heading towards zero, we don't offer one. But nor do we pass on network export tariff charges.

Lower bills. Less risk. Same power.

It takes a few minutes to see your savings. We pull your usage from your smart meter and quote you a real, guaranteed price.
